Meet
Mr. Jeff Parnett… He has been teaching music and band at Meadows Valley School for twenty-six years.
Presently he is teaching elementary music grades first through fourth, 5th grade beginning band, 6th
,7th and,8th grade junior high band, 9th -12th high school
band, and 7th and, 8th grade math. He also serves as the junior class advisor. Mr. Parnett grew up in
Kingston, New York. Kingston is a town of 35,000 people in upstate New York. When he was in school he participated in band
and orchestra, and played percussion instruments. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1970. He majored in environmental
biology at Ulster County Community College, and then transferred to the University of Idaho, earning his Bachelors of Science
degree in Music in 1977. Mr. Parnett has his teaching credentials’ in Math, Music, and Science. His
wife is Andrea is a school nurse in Riggins. She also is a private cello instructor and a marathon runner.
He has four grandchildren and a dog named Daisy. In his free time, Mr. Parnett enjoys playing and composing music, hiking, running,
camping, and archaeology. He has traveled to Europe (France, England, Germany Italy), many National Parks (Grand Canyon, Bryce,
Moab, Canyonlands, Petrified Forrest, Petro glyph, Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde..) and he has driven across the United States
six times and has visited forty-five states.
