Mrs. Linda Moyer...Her Story

Meet Mrs. Linda Moyer. She is the Kindergarten teacher at Meadows Valley School. She also teaches Early Childhood Special Education. She has been teaching at Meadows Valley for seventeen years. She grew up in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, which is along the Appalachian Trail. In school she lettered in field hockey and English, enjoyed choir, Honor Society, FHA, and was the student body president. She graduated from Hamburg High School.

Mrs. Moyer graduated magna cum laude from Boise State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She has endorsements in Music and Early Childhood Special Education. She has traveled to Africa, Asia, Europe, Alaska, Mexico, and Hawaii. Her goal is to visit all the continents except Antarctica which is too cold. Her interests include skiing, traveling, music, and anything her daughters like to do. She is an avid reader. Some of her favorite authors are Amy Tan, Wilbur Smith, and David Grisham. Favorite kids' authors are Jan Brett and Eric Carle. Some of her favorite books are Wild Swans, Trinity, and The Ladies' Number One Detective Agency.

Mrs. Moyer's favorite quote comes from Indiana Jones... "It's not the years, it's the mileage." To her this means that it doesn't matter how old or how young you are; what matters is what you have done with your life. You should ask yourself, "Have I made a difference in the life of someone else; have I made a difference in the world?" A quote from the Core Knowledge curriculum she likes to use with her Kindergarteners is... From little acorns, big oaks grow.

Mrs. Moyer explains that any student in her kindergarten class can do something worthwhile and important with their lives; any one of them can accomplish whatever they want through hard work and determination. She wants her students to set their goals high, to be motivated and ....she sincerely believes they can accomplish anything!
