Dear Parents, I am very excited about music this year. Along with singing wonderful songs, I am introducing students to the Orff music curriculum, which introduces students to keyboard and rhythm instruments. Beginning band is off to a great start. All of the kids have their instruments (provided free of charge) and are well on their way to becoming the next great Meadows Valley Band! Thank you for all of your support. Monday: Beginning Band:This week we will be reviewing eighth notes. We will be learning various ways to count notes, from number systems to vocalization. We will also have a playing test on song # 41   Tuesday: Kindergarten help Wednesday:Third grade- Today we will be continuing to learn about whole, half and quarter notes. We will also be practicing rests. Students will play various rhythms in groups using percussion instruments   Thursday: Beginning Band.  We will be playing songs from our band book. Friday: Third grade. Song Day. Students will sing various songs from our folders. We will also identify different rhythms form our songs.

Monday: Second Grade.We will learn about Half, quarter and eighth notes. We will clap and play rhythm instruments.   Tuesday: Third Grade help Wednesday: First grade- We will be learning about whole, half and quarter notes. We will play the on rhythm instruments.   Thursday: Second grade.We will continue to play various rhythms on instruments   Friday: First grade. We will be continuing to play rhythms using percussion instruments in groups.
