Hello Meadows Valley Elementary Parents and Guardians!!

I am very excited for the school year to be off and rolling. We are having so much fun inside and outside in Physical Education. The students and I are having a blast working on motor skills that will help improve overall personal fitness. I believe that Physical Education is an extremely important aspect of learning. It provides students with a sense of self-discipline, group cooperation, creativity, reward, positive criticism, focus, and overall increased energy output in their daily routine.

In class this year we will be focusing on multiple individual and team skills as well as personal and social responsibility. Please contact me if your child has any medical condition that may affect their safety or participation. Example: allergies, asthma, etc.

Thanks, I look forward to another fantastic year for Elementary Physical Education!!

P.E. Grade Information:

Grading for elementary PE is based on effort/participation and behavior. I enforce participation daily for all of my elementary students. If your student has a need to stay out of physical activity please send your student with a note informing me why. If you forget to send a note you can call the main office at 347-2411 and leave a message for me. 4th, 5th, 6th graders can check their grade on Powerschool, posted monthly. 1st, 2nd, 3rd graders will have grades sent home quarterly. Please contact me if you have any comments or concerns about your child’s P.E. grade.

What students need for P.E.:
I encourage all students to have P.E. shoes with white bottom soles. Please think ahead about the growth of your youngster. Purchasing shoes for this fall a size too big may be ideal so they still fit this spring.  Here at Meadows Valley we understand that funds are tight and obtaining shoes for P.E. may be hard this year.  Please contact the school if you are in need of financial assistance for gym shoes and we might be able to track down a pair for your child. If you have tennis shoes your child has already grown out of that are still in good condition please consider donating them to the school. Thanks so much for all of your support.

If you ever have questions, please feel free to call me at school 347-2411 or by email hriener@mvsd11.org.
