Special Education and the Idaho State Department of Education... The purpose of the Special Education division of Idaho State Department of Education is to enable all students to achieve
high academic standards and quality of life. The Special Education Team at the state level, works collaboratively with districts,
agencies, and parents to ensure students receive quality, meaningful, and needed services.
Idaho Alternative Assessment I.A.A. The Idaho Alternative Assessment is for students with disabilities who are unable to participate in
the general education statewide assessments. This test consists of teacher ratings based on a variety of performance demonstrations.
